Over 1,000 participants compete in the “muddiest” run, the Seabee Volkslauf Mud Run, where they maneuver challenging obstacles and lots of mud. The 16th Annual Seabee Volkslauf Mud Run, taking place September 10th at the Naval Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport, MS, is a 4+ mile course of mixed terrain, numerous wet obstacles like ditches, trenches and mud pits as well as a little trail running and a few stretches on asphalt. This is the largest running event on the MS Gulf Coast and open to the public, with lots of mud, and lots of FUN!

Registration is made up of solo participation and team participation. Teams shall consist of three members. Teams entering in the military and ROTC categories will be required to wear military style combat boots to qualify to win the MUDCUP but boots are NOT required if not competing for the MUDCUP. Teams must cross the finish line together as a team. The student team class is open to junior high and high school students 13 to 17 years old. This does not include college students or any military style students. JROTC and ROTC are classified as student teams.
