The Phatwater Kayak Challenge is a 42.5 mile Kayak, Canoe, Surfski, and Outrigger Canoe race on the Mississippi River, held each year since 2002 on the second Saturday of October. The XIth Annual Phatwater Kayak Challenge will be held Saturday, 13 October, 2012, in Natchez, Mississippi. Open to all classes: K-1, K-2, Surfski, Sea Kayaks, Touring Kayaks, Recreational Kayaks, Racing and Touring Canoes, and Outrigger Canoes. An exhibition class for alternative human powered craft, such as Hobie Pedal Boats, will be allowed. Prizes awarded in all classes. Cash prizes dependent upon race participation.
