Writers and readers from far and wide will gather at the Mississippi State Capitol on August 18, 2018 for the fourth annual Mississippi Book Festival, a free expo celebrating the state’s renowned literary scene.
The festival kicks off at 9 a.m. with a special unveiling of the inaugural markers of the Mississippi Writers Trail. Visitors can attend dozens of panels where more than 150 authors and writers will discuss their craft.
Sessions are split between rooms at the Capitol and Galloway United Methodist Church, just across Mississippi Street. Between sessions, lovers of literature can participate in book signings, Capitol tours, writers’ exhibits along Author’s Alley, food trucks and family-friendly activities at the Kids Corner on the Capitol lawn.
Like a great page-turner, your challenge will be finding time to fit all the events into your schedule. Find the impressive schedule of authors and sessions on the Mississippi Book Festival website.
