Wednesday, May 9 – Popcorn served to tourist. Refreshments from 11am-2pm. Exhibits available for viewing.
Thursday, May 10 – Popcorn served to tourist. Refreshments courtesy of Darby’s Fudge shop and Holiday Inn Express from 11am-2pm. Exhibits available for viewing.
Friday, May 11- Popcorn served to tourists. Grilled hot dogs courtesy of Tony with Pat Harrison Waterway from 11-am-2pm. Exhibits available for viewing
Saturday May 12- Mississippi Specialty items will be given to tourists for the last day of National Tourism/ Travel Week. Refreshments courtesy of Murphy’s Meringue. Exhibits available for viewing.

SUNDAY, MAY 6, 2018 - To kick off National Tourism Week, the 35th traveler of the day that signs in on our daily visitors log will receive a Mississippi Poster and a gift bag of Mississippi gift items.

MONDAY, MAY 7, 2018 - Michelle Williams Anti-Litter Coordinator with the Mississippi Department of Transportation will be
On-hand to provide literature and education on the Litter Program. She will provide pamphlets, brochures, pencils, and etc.… to educate the public and bring awareness to their program and bring awareness to litter prevention and the “Three E’s Campaign” Education, Enforcement, and Elimination and the media campaign “Think Green, Keep Mississippi Clean.”

Small door prizes will be given out to travelers who sign in on our daily register sheet on the hidden designated line.

TUESDAY, MAY 8, 2018 - Travel Rally Day – Display of Travel related items and special signage to appreciate travel and hospitality workers. Handouts on tips for travel. We will have bags that will include traveling and packing tips, Official Mississippi Hwy. Map, and a Mississippi Tour Guide.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 9, 2018 - It’s National Tourists Appreciation Day. On this day the Alcorn Welcome Center will serve cookies/refreshments and paintings of historic places in Corinth and the surrounding area towns will be on loan from Tony Bullard “Local Artist.”
We will be playing music by Mississippi Artists and/or songs written by Mississippi Artists.
THURSDAY, MAY 10, 2018 - Mississippi Hat pins will be given out to travelers who sign on our daily visitor sheet on hidden designated lines.
FRIDAY, MAY 11, 2018 - Mississippi hat pins will be given out to travelers who sign in on our daily visitor sheet on the hidden designated line.

SATURDAY, MAY 12, 2018 - Travel Information bags will be available with travel and packing tips which will also include the 2018 Mississippi Map, 2018 Mississippi Tour Guide, and brochures on the local and surrounding area as well as a brochure from each region of the state.
Mississippi Specialty Items gift bag will be given out to the last tourist of the day to sign the register. This will wrap up our 2018 National Travel & Tourism Week.

SUNDAY, MAY 6, 2018: Kickoff of National Travel and Tourism Week- An introduction will be presented to travelling visitors.

MONDAY, MAY 7, 2018: History of Delma Furniss –The center sits on a significant historical site where over 10,000 Native American artifacts dating back several thousand years were found. Come out and enjoy a film about the area, its history and the archeology dig. Shards, arrowheads and other artifacts are displayed along with pertinent information. Door prizes will be given out.

TUESDAY, MAY 8, 2018: Mississippi Puzzle Day-Visitors will be given the opportunity to complete different Mississippi Puzzle Trivia to win door prizes.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 9, 2018: Tourist Appreciation Day-This event will take place from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. We will play music throughout the welcome center and serve refreshments, so come and join the fun. Also, the Tutwiler quilters will be set up at the center.

THURSDAY, MAY 10, 2018: Behind the Scenes/Introduction to Moon Lake Walking Trail-Local businesses and community leaders will be invited out to learn information about Clarksdale. Also, they will be given a 2018 Mississippi Tour guide, which lists a printed CVB/tourism list.

FRIDAY, MAY 11, 2018: A PowerPoint video/Mississippi Trivia from the week recap of activities will be placed on display in lobby for guests to view. Light refreshments will be served.

SATURDAY, MAY 12, 2018: Meet and Greet with the Ladies of the Welcome Center Travelers will have a chance to come out and meet the ladies who work behind the scenes of making tourism happen.

May 9, 2018 - Come join us and travel back in time! Pictures on loan of the olden days of transportation provided by the Mayor of McComb Ms. to represent Pike County.
Marion County will provide pictures of transportation on then and now. Videos will continuously play about the story of transportation and its importance to tourism and travel.
Dogwood Cross will provide entertainment. Lincoln County, Magnolia Chamber, McComb Recreation, Osyka Civic Club and Liberty Chamber will greet tourist and hand out goodies.
Refreshments will be served.

SUNDAY, MAY 6, 2018: Complimentary Lemonade will be served to tourist. The Retiree Partnership will give out information pamphlets and serve cookies.
MONDAY, MAY 7, 2018: Pat Harrison Waterpark will grill hotdogs and serve to the tourist. Popcorn, compliments of Visit Mississippi Gulf Coast will be served along with cookies, and lemonade. Mississippi Specialty Items will be given away to tourist from 10:30am – 1:00pm.
TUESDAY, MAY 8, 2018: IP Casino from Biloxi will set up a coffee bar. Popcorn, compliments of Visit Mississippi Gulf Coast, Wingate by Wyndham Gulfport, MS Gulf Coast National Heritage Area will give out promotional items, and cookies and lemonade will be served from 10:30am – 1:00pm.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 9, 2018: Hancock County Day from 10:30am – 1:00pm: We will have area tourism partners such as Hancock County Tourism Bureau, Infinity Science Center, Diamondhead Country Club, Retired Senior Partnership, Jessica with MDOT anti-litter campaign, MS Gulf Coast National Heritage Area, local restaurants, casinos, and campgrounds will also join us in welcoming the tourist. Complementary popcorn, lemonade and sweet tea will also be served. Mississippi Specialty Items will be given to tourist.
THURSDAY, MAY 10, 2018: From 10:30am – 1:00pm, the Retired Senior Partnership, MS Gulf Coast National Heritage Area, and Motel 6 Biloxi will greet the tourist with special treats. Popcorn and sweet tea will be served.
FRIDAY, MAY 11, 2018: From 10:30 am – 1:00pm, the Hancock County Senior Center will demonstrate arts & crafts, The Retired Senior Partnership will give out information and serve cookies. Complimentary popcorn and lemonade will also be served.
SATURDAY, MAY 12, 2018: Complementary popcorn, cookies, and lemonade will be served. We will give out Mississippi Specialty Items.
