Center For Marine Education & Research

The Center for Marine Education & Research, aka Institute for Marine Mammal Studies offers visitors of all ages the chance to engage in a fun, hands-on learning experience that helps them understand and appreciate the species that make our Gulf Coast waters unique. While visiting, you experience underwater adventures on the big screen in a state of the art auditorium, encounter sea creatures such as horseshoe crabs, sea stars, fresh water turtles, and other marine life in our discovery room. Don’t forget the marine museum which features aquatic exhibits and a fossil dig – you may even find a shark tooth to keep as a souvenir! In addition, a MUST-see is the Dolphin Presentation where visitors see Bo and Buster; two Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins that entertain you for 20-minutes! To make the experience even more special, call ahead to schedule the Dolphin Interaction Program – where you actually get right in the water, up close & personal with one of the world’s most intelligent animals! What more could you ask for? This is the experience of a lifetime! Open Tuesday-Saturday: Tours @ 9am & 1pm, Dolphin Encounters @ 10:30am, Dolphin Interaction @ 2:30pm! (Dolphins seasonal) Admission Charged
