Hal & Mal's has given new life to the old paper warehouse building on the edge of downtown Jackson. It is "the place" for live music almost every night of the week and, let's not forget, solid Southern fare. From casual diners to those stopping by for a drink on the way to or from a black tie affair, Hal & Mal's has a "come one, come all" motto. Their hot tamales and gumbo have quite a kick or for a more laid back option, get a hamburger with hand cut fries. On Fridays, the soup of the day is the decadent Lobster Bisque. With a Lazy Magnolia Southern Pecan beer in hand, it’s a great way to start the evening. The multi-functional, southern-soul soaked rooms are adorned with memorabilia, local characterand a stage for live music in each. The restaurant serves a steady offering of hearty regionalstaples with a nod toward the Gulf of Mexico and our cultural mecca of New Orleans. View Mississippi Culinary Trail in a larger map
