Busy as a beehive! That’s the best way to describe the Pearl River County Welcome Center for the month of May. All during the month we will be celebrating “Music Month”. We will be showcasing many of our Mississippi Musicians.
Did you know Mississippi is the “Birthplace of America’s Music”? The Blues was started in the Mississippi Delta. We have a Blues Trail that goes throughout Mississippi highlighting some great musicians. We also have a great Country Music Trail as well. Mississippi is known for all types of Music. Did you know the 1st African American Opera Singer to achieve international stardom; Leontyne Price came from Laurel, Mississippi?

The Pearl River County Welcome Center is approximately an hour's drive from downtown New Orleans, Hattiesburg and the heart of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
