My Funny Valentine
Starring Mississippi’s Cultural Ambassador: Ora Reed
Monday, February 10, 2020 at Duling Hall • 7:30 p.m.
Enjoy an evening of heartfelt songs that showcase the vocal and keyboard talents of Ora Reed. Her programs always include songs that evoke memories, or embrace jazz standards that are from the American songbook. Selections such as “When I Fall in Love,” Why Did I Choose You,” and “Tenderly” will leave you breathlessly awaiting more.
A native Mississippian, Ora is a graduate of Jackson State University, and has performed in Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Norway, United Arab Emirates, and throughout the US. Jazz is her forte, but gospel and spirituals tell her story.
An inductee into the Mississippi Musicians’ Hall of Fame, a four-time cancer survivor, and a member of First Baptist Church Jackson, Reed was appointed Mississippi’s Cultural Ambassador by Governor Haley Barbour, which allows her to share the diversity of southern culture wherever she travels.
Tickets are $25 in advance / $30 at door.
