Mississippi Gulf Coast’s Top 5 Golf Resorts

The Mississippi Gulf Coast is a golfer’s paradise. Ideal weather. Varied terrain. A love for the outdoors that is shared by visitors and locals alike. Is it any wonder that Mississippi is a popular destination for golf and sports enthusiasts? Home to many luxurious casino resorts, the Gulf Coast has an exciting mix of award-winning golf, entertaining nightlife, intriguing history and stunning scenery.

The Preserve Golf Club

The Preserve is surrounded by cypress swamps, live oak groves and grass prairies, incorporated into the course design by U.S. Open Champion, Jerry Pate. Palace Casino Resort’s course pays homage to its location adjacent to a 1,800-acre nature preserve. True to its namesake spirit, it is a Certified Silver Audubon International Signature Sanctuary course, one of very few in the world to receive this prestigious best-conservation-practices designation.

Grand Bear Golf Club

The Grand Bear is grand in scope, vision and execution. Jack Nicklaus, known legendarily as “The Golden Bear,” took an amazing parcel of land and crafted a masterpiece that is as popular as it is finely serviced. Carved out of the DeSoto National Forest, Grand Bear is “pure” golf, where nature and the game jive to create an inspired place. An amenity of Harrah’s Gulf Coast Casino, Hotel and Spa, the course meanders through cypress wetlands and is framed by towering pines.

Windance Country Club

Windance Country Club’s 18-hole championship course, designed by Mark McCumber, features 6,660 yards of challenging golf – complete with rolling terrain, tight fairways, average-sized and level greens, and moderately bunkered course with many water hazards. An amenity of Island View Casino Resort, Windance is one of Mississippi’s top resort golf courses.

Fallen Oak Golf Club

Fallen Oak is an amenity of Biloxi’s Beau Rivage Resort and Casino, the ingenious Tom Fazio-designed layout that is brawny but also requires finesse and discretion from players. Located in Saucier and accessible to guests of the award-winning property, it is the host venue of the PGA Champions Tour’s Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic, held March 27 – April 2 this year. Fallen Oak is known for its immaculate condition, pristine setting and superlative greens. Beau Rivage is an MGM Resorts International property and ranked only behind sister MGM Resorts course Shadow Creek in Las Vegas.

The Bridges Golf Club

On the banks of Mississippi’s beautiful Bay of St. Louis, The Hollywood Casino & Resort’s golf club is set among 600 acres of moss-draped live oaks, stately pines, magnolias and sweeping vistas of saltwater marsh. This 6,900-yard, par 72 signature masterpiece is a work of art sculpted by one of the century’s great players and nationally renowned golf course architect Arnold Palmer.
