Mississippians are fanatics when it comes to youth sports, a fact which is reflected in the variety and quality of the sports facilities scattered throughout our state. However you like to play – team sports or solo, indoor or outdoor – you’ll find the perfect place for your next competition in Mississippi.
Vicksburg’s Sports Force Park is one of the Southeast’s premier youth sports facilities, drawing tournaments from throughout the region. The complex features 10 baseball and softball fields, six full-size soccer fields, state-of-the-art LED lighting, high-quality concessions, and entertainment options that include a miniature golf course and zip line.
The 75-acre mTrade Park complex in Oxford boasts professional-quality grass fields and amenities to accommodate baseball, fast-pitch softball, and soccer tournaments from February through November. The grounds include 14 baseball fields, five international size soccer fields, four concession stands, and a 7,500 square-foot indoor practice facility.
Mississippi has a number of natatoriums that are available for competitions. The Tupelo Aquatic Center is one of the state’s finest, offering a 50-meter by 25-yard competition pool with a diving well and competition bulkhead. The 45,000-square-foot facility has the capacity to host 600 swimmers and more than 900 spectators.
Ridgeland has an abundance of athletic facilities, including one of the state’s most unique offerings, Parker Miracle Field. Located at the city’s Hite Wolcott Park, the Miracle Field is designed specifically to allow individuals with disabilities the opportunity to play baseball. The field has large dugouts and a flat, latex-free rubber surface that’s suitable for wheelchairs.
Southaven’s Snowden Grove Tennis Complex features 12 lighted tennis courts with a pavilion, bathrooms, and covered seating. The complex hosts both recreational league and USTA-sanctioned tournaments for youth and adults, from everyone from beginners to advanced players.
